In my life, two extremely powerful pieces of advice have assisted me while attempting to understand situations, in which, there is seemingly no logical explanation. I decided to include that advise in this post, for the world to see, as it offers great insight into my political thought process; they are as follows:
- Follow the money Greed and lust for power have resulted in irrational decisions on the part of mankind throughout history. Money has been at the center of these decisions for quite some time and almost always leaves a rancid trail in it's wake.
- Consider the angle Everyone has one, but the most persuasive people are able to present a given situation in a manner that appears beneficial to the other party, masking their true intentions and are often the hardest angles to distinguish. Think of the people of Troy in ancient times; had they taken the time to consider the Greek's angle as the giant Trojan Horse was presented, they may have avoided their famous defeat.
Back in January, with the doom and gloom scenario on the horizon, Obama came parading into Washington riding high atop his giant wooden horse assuring the public that his stimulus was immediately necessary to avoid the impending doomsday. Time and time again, he assured us that the overwhelming majority (52.9%) had voted for hope and change. He was to rid Washington of politics as usual; no more special interest groups and lobiest running DC, while bringing a fresh new approach to the White House. Then, as Obama claimed his thrown, the belly of the giant wooden creature opened and out came his cabinet. The lineup included Washington thoroughbreds left over from the Clinton era, multiple tax evaders, a whack job science czar that has promoted mass sterilization for population control of undesireables and for good measure...a Clinton. Normally the media would question such events, but they were still basking in their glory with the success of the Obama advocacy campaign and couldn't be bothered.
It is becoming increasingly evident that the stimulus package was little more than a political payoff for electing Obama last fall. The funds are being distributed according to the districts that voted on his side of the ballot. Those who voted for the chosen one are recieving twice the funding as those who didn't. We now know that you can take Obama out of Chicago, but you can't take Chicago out of Obama. This is mob politics as usual; side with me and I'll pay you, oppose me and get nothing. That is all a side note, however, because through the process he gained unprecidented control over Wall Street.
Following the money, in regards to the bailout, leads to some interesting connections between Obama, Democrats and bailout recipients. Rather than a lengthy, hard to follow paragraph, I decided to make a table to display my findings. The table was formulated using publicly available figures on 2008 campaign conrtibutions from opensecrets.org and on bailout recipients from propublica.org.

When finished appointing his cronies to various boards and committees, redistibuting a few faces and removing undesireables, Obama was poised to take on the auto industry. After firing Rick Wagner, GM's CEO, Obama's newly appointed Car Czar, Stephen Rattner, was found to be involved in a corruption scandal involving the NY State pension fund.
This came as really no surprise after all of the other shady individuals appointed to positions within Obama's cabinet and within the shadow network of Czars. Rattner then resigned as expected and Ron Bloom was named as his replacement. A simple trip to Bloom's linkedin profile proves that he has zero experience in the automotive realm, but he was an assistant to the president of the United Steel Workers Union, which contributed $1,396,090 to Democrats in 2008....so evidently, thats good enough. Starting to notice a pattern?

Starting to notice a pattern? After billions of tax payer dollars spent on the GM and Chrysler bailouts, Obama pressured them into bankruptcy court. As a result of the hasty bankruptcy process, Chrysler emerged from it's shotgun wedding with an unlikely spouse, Fiat. Yes Fiat, the Italian car maker that couldn't hack it in the US auto market in the early 80's, has come back as Chrysler's saving grace. Along side Fiat's 35% stake, the United Auto Worker's Union took a majority 55% stake with the US and Canadian governments rounding out the remaining 10%. The fact that the UAW will now be negotiating deals with itself is sure to make the whole thing fail miserably. It is common knowledge that the unreasonable UAW contracts with the auto makers are the reason the big three were in trouble in the first place. The UAW did, however, contribute $2,100,973 to the Democratic Party and $28,862 to Obama in 2008, which have proven to be the only requirements for any given government position. This is the type of ridiculous partnership that is formed when the government rattles it's saber in the private sector.
Just days before the merger, Obama stated that Chrysler had 30 days to find a partner. Given the short period of time, Fiat emerged as the taker. Looking at the two companies it seemed Chrysler was saving Fiat, given the niche market Fiat had put all of it's eggs into. The company has only tiny, fuel efficient vehicles, which is great...if you are in Europe or South America. Fiat lacks vehicles in the light truck, SUV and crossover markets, which have been staples in the rest of the world for quite some time now. Any business that is that one dimensional is extremely vulnerable, Fiat is no exception. So why Fiat? They make the green cars that fit into Obama's cap and trade future. The truth is, America is a massive country with families who like to travel long distances comfortably in their large vehicles.
With Chrysler taken care of it was now time to take on GM's bankruptcy. Understandably, this went smooth, given Obama already had his henchmen remove the CEO. After only 36 days GM emerged from bankruptcy. The US government now owns 61% of the new GM, the United Auto Workers 17.5%, the Canadian government 11.7% and the old GM only 9.8%.
Objectors to the bankruptcy were given only three days for their 850 voices to be heard. The two combined bankruptcies were rushed through at break-neck speed, lacking the transparency necessary in a normal Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Also lacking were any major differences in the wages that Unions paid or the ways they conduct business; essentially they dropped their dental coverage and threw in a no strike clause for 6 years. The no strike clause wasn't worth the paper it was written on, given that the union was now part of the ownership, and of all the crazy things I have seen, a union striking against itself would top the list. The irony of the situation is the auto bailouts were sold to the public as a job saving measure and now GM and Chrysler have announced a plan to eliminate 3,000 dealerships, a move that by the dealers estimate will result in the loss of 200,000 jobs. Six months into the Obama Administration the economy has been reluctant, thus far, to show any true signs of recovery. As pointed out in earlier, the stimulus package has proven to be an enormous Democratic payoff as well as a poorly written, unsuccessful piece of legislature. The auto bailouts ware a risky investment that lacked transparency, foresight and economically justifiable restructuring, that is normally necessary in bankruptcy. None of Obama's recovery efforts have actually helped the economy and it is becoming a common consensus that cap and trade, as well as Obamacare, will further increase the deficit and bankrupt our country. With waning public support of cap and trade and healthcare initiatives, a good segment of the US population is left wondering why would Obama continue to push such unpopular bills? For the answer to that question, we must consider his angle.
Democrats have always depended on a societal victim class in which they can buy votes through offering government programs and subsidies. In the course of our country's economic meltdown, we the people, as a collective body were coached to believe that we were that very victim class. Obama stated that only government "has the resources to jolt our economy back to life" and a wounded public bought into the idea; the deeper the economic downturn got, the easier it was to sell to the masses. This system, however, does rely on two other key components--a strong Democratic Congressional majority and speed. If the chosen one looses the ability to slam legislation through Congress, the American people then have a chance to see that the devil is in the details of these bills before the are signed into law. This is the true reason for the sense of urgency behind every bill that he has thus far proposed. The President of the United States is using our economic disparity to fundamentally alter the structure of our Democracy into his ideological vision of American statism.
To avoid confusion, let me clarify. Statism is a fascist/communist principle that the Marriam-Webster dictionary defines as: a concentration of economic controls and planning in the hands of a highly centralized government often extending to government ownership of industry. That is exactly what is going on in America today. Though Obama had campaigned as a center-left Democrat, who would work across party lines to clean up Washington , he now has a track record of contridiction to his rhetoric and has revealed his far left agenda. If we, the American people, fail to recognize the dangers in adopting statist principles under the false pretense of a return to economic prosperity, then we may very well find ourselves suffering a similar fate to that of the Trojans.

Excellent article that hits the nail on the head! A statist is exactly what was elected for the people that depend on government to take care of them. This dependency has created a situation that only the Constitution itself can fix. When the light of truth is spread amongst all citizens who believe in what the country is supposed to stand for, only then will we take care of this at the ballot box.
