EXCLUSIVE VIDEO:9/12-The Story The Media Refused To Tell

On 9/12/2009 an unprecedented crowd gathered in Washington D.C. to collectively say enough is enough; WE THE PEOPLE are what this country is all about. We are tired of being an afterthought to an oppressive government that seems concerned only with growing larger and more powerful, distancing itself daily from the Constitution and ideals that this country was founded upon.

Reports on the actual size of the crowd vary wildly and to be perfectly honest, I don't believe that anyone in the media (save Fox News) or the government actually wants the American people to know the real number in attendance. I think the pictures speak more to the crowd size than any number could possibly do. Sheer numbers alone do not tell the full story of 9/12, it wasn't about that. The people are what made 9/12 a special moment in history. Walking around, I found a beautiful cross section of the American population- young and old Americans, the rich and poor Americans, African-Americans, White-Americans, Asian-Americans and Hispanic-Americans all removed the hyphen from their descriptions to adorn a single label-AMERICANS.

There was not a single problem at the event, never mind an arrest, but the media chose not to air this truly American event. The little things that happened may be some of the more powerful statements- though the city was obviously unprepared for the actual number of people that showed up there was little to no trash left on the ground, around topped off garbage barrels people's signs were stacked neatly and people waited patiently in long lines without shoving or complaining for the restrooms that were also too few of.

The people in attendance were not the angry mobsters that the media has portrayed us to be, but rather average-joe Americans that you run into while shopping for groceries, the neighbor that you know you can trust to watch your house while away on vacation or the family member you can count on to be there when times get tough. But given that no one was screaming at a Representative or Senator at a town hall, we were largely and in my opinion, criminally ignored by the media. I knew that would happen, so long before the event, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I purchased a new HD camcorder and along with a good friend, packed our bags and headed to D.C. with the little money we could scrape together. It wasn't quite as simple as I thought it would be... our flight out of Manchester NH was canceled on Friday night due to weather in Philadelphia, so we had to rush to Boston to take a later flight. We made the trip to Boston in time to board our plane and reached Philly only to realieze that our flight to D.C. had also been cancelled. So there we were, stranded in Philly with no flight out until Saturday at noon- clearly unacceptable. We decided to sleep on the floor at the airport terminal for two hours and rent a car to drive to D.C. at 4 AM and make it to the rally point at 8:30. The bottom line is this: we felt as though what we were going to do at the event was a service to our country and there was going to be nothing that stood in our way.

I see the events of September 12th, 2009 not as the as the climax of a summer filled with discontent but rather the catalyst for a movement to take America back to Constitutional law and the values our great nation was founded upon. Adam and I poured our hearts and souls into this video and truly believe it is one of our greatest achievements, not just for the video itself, but also for the far reaching implications of what it has to offer to society.
