On Saturday October 18th, 2009 Operation- Can You Hear Us Now? took place with protests staged in front of media headquarters nationwide. In Manchester, NH a crowd took time out of their day to protest WMUR's biased coverage, or in some cases total omission of events that are important to their viewers.

Our founding fathers did not give us freedom of the press to establish a propaganda machine, but rather to provide a reliable source of information to inform the electorate. Without an informed electorate, they knew our country with it's freedoms and liberties would not be able to exist. The media has traditionally been the watchdog of the government, keeping politicians relatively honest. In the last few years, most of the media has abandoned that role and instead they are choosing to be the cheerleaders for the Chosen One. This is not only shielding information from the people, but also providing cover for politicians to pass bills into law that serve their own agendas rather than what is good for society as a whole.

I make a reference in the video likening the recent shamefully biased coverage the media has been providing to slave owners denying their servants the opportunity of proper education and I believe this is the direction we are heading in. If you have been paying attention to all of the events taking place in DC, you are probably wondering when we made the choice to have a class of royals ruling us...so am I. It seems that these crooks in DC believe that they are above the law and are in no danger of being called out on their shading dealings- and they have good reason to believe so. Those in the mainstream media are spending more time telling us that Michael Jackson is still dead, John and Kate are still getting divorced, Balloon Boy is still a hoax, and the list could go on and on. Meanwhile, our civil liberties, our sovereignty and security in the World, and our country in general is being taken away quietly behind the scenes with no media coverage. It is time to remind the media what their role is in this country and this was a step in the right direction.

Very good! I'm really tired of tabloid news. The balloon boy et al. Really sad when you have all these 24 hr news stations and still can't get any news. Information is freedom.

As a participant at this protest, I really appreciate this video. Many of my own concerns were well expressed by others who were there. As this video is shared with others, the truth will get out to the general public and more citizens will get involved in protecting the future of this great country for the generations to come.
