The Audacity of The Chosen One is really getting to be sickening. After openly bashing FOX News for their supposed agenda based coverage, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn had an outrageous video surface today from the Dominican Republic where she openly admits in a speech that during the 2008 campaign team Obot was manipulating and downright controlling the media. I selected a few comments that really stand out to me in the interview to present to you before you watch the video.
...The reality was whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech that a huge part of our press strategy was focussed on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to, you know, why the campaign was saying it; what the tactic was...
No Anita, you wouldn't want to have the press interpret anything... it wouldn't be propaganda if you let the media do their job! If you aren't familiar with David Plouffe, he was Obama's chief campaign manager in 2008. He coincidentally was employed by AKP&D Message and Media since 2000. AKP&D Message and Media is David Axelrod's propaganda, um ... I mean media consulting firm that has been profiting from the health care debate.
...We had a huge premium on both message discipline; on people in the campaign not leaking to reporters; on people in the campaign not discussing our strategy and also on making the press cover what we were saying...
So much for the most transparent White House in the history of the United States.
...The reason we did so many David Plouffe videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without actually having to talk to reporters. We just put that out there and make them write what Plouffe had said, as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it and it did not always make us popular with the press, but we increasingly by the general election, very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control... But no, you're right, we went around that filter...Wow, now it looks as though we are truly headed for a Chavez-Venizuala style democracy. Control, control, control- That is all these people know! That is what all of these gargantuan government bills are all about:
- Stimulus: Control Wall Street
- Auto-bailout: Control Detroit
- Cap and Trade: Control the Energy Sector
- Health Care: Control YOU
- Diversity Czar at the FCC: Control the airwaves and probably the Internet!
In the irony department, Anita provided some good advise to politicians that would have been useful words to live by in her own life.
...As we now tell politicians rather routinely- there is no such thing as off the record, there is no such thing as a closed to press meeting; anybody with a cell phone can pick up the video...
...We tell people anything you say, you should expect to be on YouTube...
Yes indeed Anita, ANYTHING you say will be on YouTube... I guess we can agree on that! I included the videos of her remarks about FOX News as well as the lovely clip of her professing her love of Mao Tse Tung, in case you haven't seen them to this point. All of this drives home the point that was made over the weekend at the "Operation: Can You Hear Us Now?" media protests: if you are going to be a propaganda machine for the White House, You are irrelevant and we are better off without you! I think we are doing a pretty good job covering what you won't right here on the Internet, but then again The Chosen One and Congress already have their eyes set on regulating the Internet as well.
